Community Clinic of Maui, Inc. dba Malama I Ke Ola Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a fully integrated behavioral health, dental, and primary care system. PRIMARY FUNCTION:: The Maintenance Specialist performs skilled maintenance, repair, adjustment and minor work of the Community Health Center. Ensure that facilities are properly maintained and meet clinic standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

• Janitorial and maintenance services for all CCM properties. Janitorial services included but not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, moping, dusting, emptying all trash containers, stripping and waxing tile floors, maintaining supplies, and general detailing.

• Provide assistance to the Patient Access and Facilities Director on various projects as needed.

• Performs preventative maintenance on building systems, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and control systems and related components.

• Assist Facilities Manager in planning and scheduling preventative maintenance work and recommends approaches to preventative maintenance programs.

• Performs service and preventative maintenance on equipment, troubleshoots equipment problems and identifies when appropriate for external service provider to make repairs or perform warranty work.

• Assist with all repairs and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors.

• Assure compliance with facility maintenance standards.

• Maintains a broad working knowledge of materials, systems and code requirements related to maintenance of facility.

• Responds to clinic emergencies and closures including adverse weather to ensure that all facilities are protected and remain operational.

• Assist with tasks required in preparing to open facilities after a closure, systems and equipment checks and start-up operations as assigned.

• Knows and understands all safety procedures of the clinic.

• Assist with all repairs, refurbishing projects, and furniture/equipment moving.

• Other Duties

• Attends and participates in meetings and committees as necessary.

• Attends additional training sessions as suggested and approved by the Facilities Manager, to improve deficiencies, enhance knowledge and skills or maintain licensure as required.

• Performs other duties deemed appropriate and at times selected by the Facilities Manager.

• Quality and Safety

• Participates in team and organizational quality improvement process.

• Participates in the organization’s Emergency Preparedness Plan.

• Assist and prepare for Emergency conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS::

Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. Two years of education or training in the facilities maintenance trades may substitute for two years of experience.
Experience:
Two years of semi-skilled maintenance work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above
Skills/Competencies:
Able to use all required equipment for maintenance and cleaning.
Able to use critical thinking skills to assess facilities and maintenance issues in order to trouble-shoot and recommend corrective actions.
Other Requirements:

• Negative TB clearance within previous 12 months

• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination as required by federal mandate, will consider request for reasonable accommodate for medical or religious exception.

Decision Making Skills:

• Exercises independent decisions making on major policy issues drawing on years of experience and extensive training or education. Able to make decisions that impact overall Clinics function and operations.
